To Myrtle Beach We Go!!!

Day 1-----

We left Thursday night and dry camped at a rest area just outside of Columbia, SC. This one, like most, has a pet area to walk your dogs.

Let's just say there were violators, and my shoe found them... Still, it was a quick recovery, and we hit the road to finish the journey.

The kids like riding.

The part of Myrtle Beach we arrived in is covered in camper stuff. Camp grounds, camper supply stores, camper sales, Camper WORLD... Yep, we're gonna go there!
The state park is beautiful! It is covered in trees that canopy the roads, and it's right on the beach.

Note to self #1: Lots of trees make it difficult to park a 38ft camper with a truck that is almost equally as long...

After we're parked, I noticed our first mini-disaster:

Note to self #2: NEVER forget to move large glass jars full of sugar & small glass jars of salsa to a bottom shelf...
I might have taken the hint from the night before when my glass jar of flour & the large mayo jar hurled themselves in the trash can, shutting the cabinet door behind them, but in my defense, I DID move  those specific items.
Oh well. You haven't lived until you've cleaned up sugar congealed in salsa with shards of glass.

After the sugar/salsa recovery, we hit the beach. The stroll through the campground & the walkway to the beach is awesome! Oh, and Donald won't walk Jazz because her leash is pink...

The park has a stretch of beach all to itself, and we almost have it all to ourselves! We came during the time of year that they allow dogs on the beach, and Rock and Jazz love the beach. Well, Rock more so than Jazz. Rock is your typical little boy. It doesn't bother him that the water is still FREEZING!!! He runs in and out of the surf anyway. He thought he was going to attack a wave once.. That may have been a bit colder than he expected (hehe)! Jazz is not too keen on the cold water. She cuddles up with me on a towel on the sand. Relaxing... Until Rock comes speeding by you, stepping on you with his cold wet feet and covers you in sand. He'll flip over and roll around in it. He's such a nut, and he really, really LOVES the beach! We are having too much fun!

We finished up by eating at Big Daddy's Roadhouse Grill. The steak was almost as good as Donald's (smiling)! The waitress had a bigger southern accent than me. (I know what you're thinking, and yes, it's possible...) Loved it! The food really was great.
